LaunchSpecs tracks newly released tech products and turns their spec sheets into honest comparison tables. We start with mini PCs and small-form-factor computing, because that market moves fast, the marketing is loud, and the numbers that actually matter are buried in PDF spec sheets.
Most product coverage tells you a device is “blazing fast” without telling you the TDP, which RAM slots are soldered, or whether the second M.2 slot is 2280 or 2242. We publish exactly those numbers, side by side, in tables you can scan in ten seconds — and we say plainly when a figure comes from a manufacturer’s claim rather than an independent measurement.
What you’ll find here
- Mini PC comparisons — head-to-head spec tables for the models people are actually cross-shopping.
- CPU & chip comparisons — what the processor and iGPU inside a mini PC actually deliver, generation over generation.
- Best-for charts — which specs matter for a Plex server, a Home Assistant hub, emulation, or silent office work.
- Buying guides & specs — RAM upgrade compatibility, storage slot formats, power draw, and how to read a spec sheet.
- New releases — fresh spec breakdowns of newly announced products against the generation they replace.
- Ports & peripherals — USB4 vs Thunderbolt, HDMI vs DisplayPort, and the connection standards that decide what a small computer can do.
Who runs this site
LaunchSpecs is edited by Jason Paik. We describe exactly how our articles are researched, written, and checked on our How We Create Content page — including our use of AI tools and the limits we put on them. You can read more about the editor on the About the Editor page.
Our standards
- Our comparisons are built from published spec sheets, manufacturer documentation, and official product pages — and we tell you that is what they are. We do not claim hands-on testing we have not done.
- Every figure is checked against primary sources before publication. When sources disagree or a number cannot be verified, we say so instead of guessing.
- We never invent personal anecdotes or benchmark results.
- When a spec changes after launch (a silent revision, a firmware update, a new SKU), we correct the article and note the change.
